Shadow Play

Today’s picture is one of many from our trip to the Grand Canyon in January.

There are so many sweeping, stunning and breathtaking vistas at the Grand Canyon that it’s really hard to digest it all. How can something this large and magnificent be on this planet in the middle of “nowhere”? It is a desolate area…

Can you imagine being the first human to view this natural wonder…or even the first European?

So many colors seem to fill the Canyon…and they are ever changing. Take this picture for instance. The normal rusts, tans, browns, and yellows are muted by the shadows of the clouds overhead…and all this was set against the blue back drop of the Arizona sky. It was absolutely stunning to view in person.

I hope this picture conveys a fraction of that…

Enjoy today’s picture…

It will leave you speechless
