Picture of the Day – Solitude at Driftwood Beach

Approaching Driftwood Beach

Late in the afternoon on 9/11 Tall & Handsome and I drove over to Jekyll Island (GA). We really wanted to see Driftwood Beach. I was fascinated with the old oak trees that grow close to the beach. Over time, these tree become the giant driftwood “sculptures” on the beach as weather, time and erosion take their course. As we approached the beach we could hear the waves crashing and thunder rolling in the distance…I thought the photo captured all the elements…with a solitary man peacefully enjoying the surroundings…

    Professional-grade photo!

  2. Thanks Jack! I was fascinated with the twisted limbs of the old trees. They formed the most awesome canopy at the end of the path. I looked up and the juxtaposition of the tree limbs, Reggie and the sky just seemed perfect. I had to snap 🙂
